Shanye steps in as Ducks GM
The Anaheim Ducks currently sit at the top of the competitive Pacific Division, and have found a new GM to man the ship. The team announced Friday morning Shayan Majidy will be stepping in as the teams new GM.
The Ducks squad is a mix bag of ages and styles of play, and it'll be interesting to see how Majidy molds the team into the brand of hockey he thinks wins playoff games.
"We have a solid club. We have some depth here, not really many star guys after Weber (only 2 players have over 80 offence). Weber is also our best defensive piece (the only player with above 80 defence)."
"I think when building a club, you have to start with building with what you have, not fight the stream too early on. I think it's safe to say we'll keep building around Weber. He's the franchises face going forward."
"There's a lot of implication in building around Weber, one is age. Weber is 27 years old, Buff is 27, JJ is 25. That looks like whats going to be our teams target age range, and we'll start building to that."
"Right now every player is available. We're going to try to stay on top of the division while getting a bit younger. Once we're ready to strike for the cup we'll add the pieces we need."

Young blood on the west coastThe Anaheim Ducks took a major shift in team identity last Thursday, dealing away top scorers Bobby Ryan and Niklas Backstrom to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for up and coming stars Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Brayden Schenn. The clubs add's to an already deep C pool of Fisher, Bozak, Steckle and possibly Vinny Lecavalier (if the Wisniewski deal is reversed). How exactly will things work in terms of lines for all the's talented C's to get space? "We'll have to wait and see" said ducks head coach "If we go with a scoring line, two shut down lines, and a two way line then we're going to go with Nuge-Bozak-Steckle-Rolston, with Schenner and Fish on wing duty. If we can get some top six support, we go Nuge-Schenn-Bozak-Steckle, but then again if Lecav comes back, that changes things even more, we'll have to wait and see." A period of uncertainty hangs over the Ducks organization as they wait and see which deals are being revoked by the leagues trade committee, ducks GM Majidy didn't have much to say on the topic. "It's disgusting some GM would do that, I feel bad for the Blue Jackets organization."
