Mike Fisher C 33 4200000 1 61 76 77 72 78 77 75 80 67 67 78 78 71 75 76 77
Probably the biggest prize of this years UFA class is the solid two-way forward Mike Fisher. Responsible at both ends of the rink, Fisher would be an excellent second line center but can also play in nearly any role you'd want him in, be it powerplay, penalty kill or shutdown. He is also a great leader, and a potential captain on any team that he joins. Look for Fisher to become a part of a competitive team in hopes of finally capturing that ever-illusive Stanley Cup.
Jimmy Howard G 29 2250000 1 36 79 77 77 79 79 78 77 73 78 78 65 76 77 78 78
After not being resigned by his team, Jimmy Howard looks to make his first entrance into Unrestricted Free Agency. A number one goaltender, look for Howard to sign on with a team that needs some help in goal.
Nik Antropov C 33 4000000 1 34 76 77 74 67 72 64 70 74 76 75 62 74 75 67 73
The big forward from Kazakhstan would be a decent pickup for any team looking to add some secondary scoring. While a little on the slow side, Antropov has the talent to be a useful cog in a powerplay or in a limited role.
Chris Neil RW 34 2000000 1 76 60 48 46 83 64 92 70 84 43 58 66 89 51 79 71
The hard-hitting Chris Neil finds himself leaving Ottawa for the first time in his career. A great checker/enforcer, Neil will be sure to instantly add grit to any team willing to take him on.
Dan Cleary RW 34 2800000 1 51 74 73 73 74 74 68 77 64 68 61 65 72 73 72 71
Dan Cleary brings a cup ring along with some decent two-way play that could make him a solid pickup for your bottom six. He is also coming off a career high 66 points so he has shown that he can make a difference in a scoring role as well with his hard work ethic.
Wojtek Wolski LW 27 600000 1 39 74 72 76 66 69 68 78 76 80 71 55 67 74 67 71
Brad Boyes RW 31 1000000 1 37 74 76 76 64 68 61 78 78 79 70 52 69 75 64 72
A former 40 goal scorer, Boyes' production has slowed down but he is still a solid offensive winger who knows how to get goals. Similary, Wolski also knows how to put the puck in the net and is eager to find a team that he can stick with. Similar to fellow UFA Antropov, they could bring some offense to a team that needs some secondary scoring in a limited capacity.
Ron Hainsey D 32 4500000 1 32 58 63 62 77 74 71 75 78 75 46 62 74 61 74 69
Andrew Ference D 34 2250000 1 58 49 52 49 76 74 76 74 78 62 49 71 79 50 75 69
Grizzled veterans Ron Hainsey and Andrew Ference could add some defensive depth for a team in need of a bottom six defender.
Joe Corvo D 36 2000000 1 42 74 74 75 70 68 66 73 85 84 43 62 67 74 68 71
If you're in the market for an offensive defenseman, Corvo may be the best available. He'd be fine manning the point on any PP unit with limited even-strength ice time.
Some other names hitting the market include Niklas Backstrom, Jose Theodore, Kristian Huselius, Matt Cooke, Steve Sullivan, Scott Hannan, Daymond Langkow, Kevin Klein and more!
There is also the possibility of a pair of Canadiens, Max Pacioretty and Sam Gagner being listed as RFAs, as well as Chris Stewart of St. Louis, all of which will be sure to garner alot of interest across the league.
